It is a great time to be a part of Gateway. Come in. Come in deeper. Come in to stay for a while. You are welcome here. Our common mission remains: “To Make Disciples of Jesus Christ for the Transformation of the World.” Please be in conversation with me or any of our staff if you would like to learn more about what God is doing among us here at Gateway United Methodist Church.

OUR HISTORY

Since the original Pentecost, God has been doing a new thing among His people. Gateway UMC looks to the future while resting in a rich and diverse heritage of Christian service in Fairmont.

September 2024 brings the 20th anniversary of Gateway UMC, having been formed by a merger of the Diamond Temple UMC and Christ UMC congregations in 2004. Both have deep roots which can be traced back 100 years or more in the Fairmont community.

We want to connect people to a growing, life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ.

OUR VALUES:

To Love God: We want to show others what a relationship with Jesus looks like by how we honor Him with our worship and with our praise.

To Connect to Others: We want to build meaningful relationships with others around us and we can make those connections in our church and in our community.

Serve the World: We serve the world by choosing to partner with ministries and finding ways to reach out; beyond our walls as a church and into the lives of who Jesus would want us to minister to.
